Abstract
This article discusses about trafficking in persons and slavery, a topic that unfortunately remains current and whose discussion is important for the fight against the problem to be strengthened. The human rights of these exploited individuals are constantly violated for the sake of profit, trafficking in persons, for example, is one of the most lucrative activities nowadays. An important document that sought to combat this crime is the Palermo Protocol, created in 2000, which is considered a milestone in the fight against trafficking in persons, including several purposes. Thus, the analysis of trafficking in persons for the purpose of slavery in Brazil, carrying out a study of our legislation and the forms of combat used in the country. And a study will also be carried out on trafficking in persons for the purpose of slavery in Chile, investigating in the same way its legislation and forms of combat. The choice for Chile as an object of study with Brazil is noteworthy as it is the country in Latin America with the lowest rate of modern slavery. Finally, a comparison will be made between both countries in relation to combating trafficking in persons for the purpose of slavery.
